Bio

I’m Joey, and I’ve been playing music most of my life – 25 years or so.

I started out on the drums, and consider myself a drummer on every instrument I play including piano, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, accordion, bass, organ, and voice to name most of them.

I have formal training in music and have taught music privately for the last 10 years. I’ve traveled across North Carolina around Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Boone,  Asheville, Winston Salem, and Wilmington playing music.

My approach is ear centered. I equip students with the skills and experience needed to go forth and DO music in whatever capacity they want. It is important to play the music that speaks to you. The songs that inspire YOU to play. I can help you find that music.

My wide amount of musical experiences and knowledge allows me to meet any student where they are, and lead them down a path of personal and spiritual fulfillment.
